DCTV Announces New Capacity Building Grant for Nonprofits

Local Television Channels Investing Heavily to Help Nonprofits Powerfully Expand How They Connect With Their Communities

 

Washington, DC — May 14, 2019 — DCTV today announced the launch of a valuable new grant program for nonprofit organizations in Washington, DC to help them expand their media communications capacity. The grant program, which was designed with input from nonprofit leaders across the District, will enable nonprofits at any budget level to tell quality stories, have vital conversations, and get valuable training. As part of their new Capacity Building Grants, DCTV will create television programs to share nonprofits’ depth of expertise, leadership of important conversations and compelling stories with people all over the District and help nonprofits powerfully expand how they connect with their communities.

Applications Open June 17, 2019

The DCTV grant program requires a minimal match and provides incredible value in communications support for nonprofit organizations. The grant term is one year. Applications for the first grant cycle open June 17, 2019 and close July 19, 2019.

All informational sessions will be hosted at DCTV headquarters, 901 Newton Street, NE, Washington, DC 20017, and will include an interactive tour of the onsite professional production facilities.

Grants Support Media Strategy

DCTV grant recipients will appear and share their expertise in dynamic programs on DCTV’s three dedicated cable channels, which broadcast on Comcast, RCN, and Verizon, as well as DCTV’s streaming platforms. DCTV will work closely with grantees to create compelling content for local viewers.

Grantees will expand their community presence, boosting their social media platforms and websites with professionally-produced video content. Through valuable media education, grantees will strengthen their communications capabilities and expand their storytelling capacity. And as part of a dedicated group of people working to uplift DC communities, grantees will benefit from media strategy consultation, event space rental, discounted professional services, and more.
