Membership Requirements & Restrictions
DCTV membership is open to all individuals and organizations. Eligibility for membership can be delayed for a period of sixty (60) days, at DCTV’s sole discretion, for any individual that interferes with the orderly conduct of DCTV activities, facilities or programs; or acts disrespectfully or in a threatening manner towards any person in DCTV’s facilities or on DCTV field productions. An individual is permanently not eligible for membership, at DCTV’s sole discretion, if he or she commits any of the following:

  • Causes injury or threat of injury to any person (including staff, members and others) while on DCTV property or while using DCTV facilities or equipment or while participating in DCTV activities in any other location;
  • Commits theft, unauthorized removal, vandalism or willful damage of DCTV equipment or facilities; or theft of the personal property of any DCTV staff, user or visitor;
  • Consumes, sells or dispenses illegal substances, or illegally possessing or brandishing a weapon on DCTV property or while using DCTV facilities or equipment or while participating in DCTV activities in any other location; and
  • Makes false representation of herself or himself as a DCTV or cable provider employee, or makes unauthorized use of DCTV’s trademarks, copyrights or other intellectual property rights and fails to correct in a timely manner once notified.

The DCTV capacity building grant program offers eligible nonprofits an array of benefits that build organizational communications and storytelling capability and provides an ongoing presence on cable television. We designed these grants to offer training and expert guidance to the nonprofit community, which enables you to robustly expand your impact within the DC community.

“Grant Level” is the amount of money your organization contributes to receive the grant. The grant term is initially one year and requires a very small organizational match. DCTV will provide documentation so that you can appropriately record “in-kind” services in your financial records. Grants may be extended or renewed with DCTV approval.
