How do I join (individual)?
Submit membership application with supporting documents and payment of $30.
If you are interested in DCTV's facilities, services, classes and/or channel time you will also need to:
Attend an Introduction to DCTV class, which is free with membership. Apply now
How do I join (organization)?
Submit membership application with supporting documents and payment of $150. The principle contact of the organization will need to attend the Introduction to DCTV, which is free with membership. Apply now
How do I register for classes?
To register for classes, you can visit us at 901 Newton Street NE 20017, or you can mail in a check or money order after speaking with the Membership Manager. You will need to pay for classes to officially register and reserve your seat.
What is certification?
Certification is required to use DCTV’s facilities and equipment. Members are certified once they successfully complete training courses, demonstrating a level of knowledge to operate DCTV’s equipment safely and properly. Members can also become certified by successfully passing a test administered by the Production staff (also known as “testing out”), demonstrating a level of knowledge to operate DCTV’s equipment safely and properly.
Can I join if I am not a resident of DC?
Yes. DC residents have priority for all equipment, facilities and channel time. To join you will need to:
- Submit membership application with supporting documents and payment of $30
If you plan on submitting programs and you are from outside of Washington DC, Maryland or Virginia:
- You can pay DCTV to encode your program for $40.
Please note: programming for out-of-state producers is accepted on a first come/first served basis within established policies, rules and procedures. DCTV is responsible for deciding the time, place and manner by which programming will reach its audience. All scheduling decisions are final.
